چکیده

The bio-thermal convection in a rotating layer of porous medium saturated with Newtonian fluid gyrotactic microorganisms is studied on the basis Darcy–Brinkman model. A linear analysis carried out using Galerkin method for rigid-rigid boundary conditions. In stationary regime, we obtained dispersion equation relation between thermal Rayleigh–Darcy number and bioconvection. influence Peclet number, gyrotaxis, Darcy cell eccentricity, rotation parameter bioconvective processes analyzed shown graphically. results indicate that an increase (Taylor number) delays onset bioconvection, whereas eccentricity can stimulate

Thermal Convection of Rotating Micropolar Fluid in Hydromagnetics Saturating A Porous Medium

This paper deals with the theoretical investigation of the thermal instability of a thin layer of electrically conducting micropolar rotating fluid, heated from below in the presence of uniform vertical magnetic field in porous medium. A dispersion relation is obtained for a flat fluid layer, contained between two free boundaries using a linear stability analysis theory, and normal mode analysi...

Thermal convection in a rotating layer of a magnetic fluid

Thermal convection in magnetic fluids can be driven by buoyancy or by magnetic forces (due to the thermomagnetic effect). Depending on the direction of the applied temperature gradient, buoyancy effects can be stabilizing (heating from above) or destabilizing (heating from below), whereas the magnetic forces always play a destabilizing role for magnetic fields perpendicular to the interface. We...

Thermal Convection in a (Kuvshiniski-type) Viscoelastic Rotating Fluid in the Presence of Magnetic Field through Porous Medium (TECHNICAL NOTE)

The effect of magnetic field on an incompressible (Kuvshiniski-Type) viscoelastic rotating fluid heated from below in porous medium is considered. For the case of stationary convection, magnetic field and medium permeability have both stabilizing and destabilizing effect on the thermal convection under some conditions whereas rotation has a stabilizing effect on the thermal convection. In the...

Rigidity and Irregularity Effect on Surface Wave Propagation in a Fluid Saturated Porous Layer

The propagation of surface waves in a fluid- saturated porous isotropic layer over a semi-infinite homogeneous elastic medium with an irregularity for free and rigid interfaces have been studied. The rectangular irregularity has been taken in the half-space. The dispersion equation for Love waves is derived by simple mathematical techniques followed by Fourier transformations.  It can be seen t...
